Abstract:
This article presents the architecture designed in the EULE project for fleet management of unmanned aircraft for the transport of urgent medical supplies. First, the intended operation is described, followed by the derivation of the resulting fleet management interfaces. The regulatory restrictions for planned flight operations are explained. Based on this, the necessary fleet management architecture is defined. Fleet managements mission planning creates the flight missions from the data received via the interfaces. The allocation of aircraft to missions is performed within fleet management by dispatch. Fleet management also considers cases in which no aircraft is available at the desired launch site and must first be provided by another station. In this case, dispatch decides which surrounding station will provide the aircraft based on a cost function. After presenting the overall fleet management architecture, mission planning and dispatch are illustrated using three example use cases.
